Emergency Preparedness

In the event of a crisis situation, LSU will communicate vital information as quickly and efficiently as possible in order to provide the greatest safety for our students, faculty, and staff.

One or more of the following communication tools will be used to notify students, faculty, and staff:

  • Text Messaging: Messages will be sent out from the LSU Emergency Operations Center to all users enrolled in the Emergency Text Messaging System

  • Website: Notice posted on the LSU homepage and myLSU

  • Social Media: Updates will be posted to Facebook and Twitter as the situation develops

  • LSU Mobile App: Download the official LSU mobile app and enable notifications to receive notices and updates
  • Email: Broadcast message to campus e-mail addresses

  • Telephone: Broadcast voice mail to campus extensions and posted to emergency information hotline 225-578-4636 or 1-800-516-6444

  • Media: Media alerts distributed to all area print and broadcast media representatives

  • Official State Crisis Communications: emergency.louisiana.gov
