LSU Symphonic Winds

About the Ensemble

The LSU Symphonic Winds is an ensemble comprised of select undergraduate and graduate music majors in the School of Music, as well as qualified musicians from other academic disciplines.

The ensemble performs a wide array of repertoire, including original wind band works, chamber works, transcriptions, and experimental “new music” compositions. The Symphonic Winds also hold a proud tradition of collaboration with other groups and art forms, including the LSU School of Theatre.

Symphonic Winds enrollment averages 60 musicians each year and rehearses Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Auditions are open to all interested students. The course number for the ensemble is MUS 4254.

The LSU Symphonic Winds is under the direction of Dr. Simon Holoweiko, Associate Director of Bands.
