Arts Administration

The Arts Administration concentration is designed to provide students with coursework and practical experience leading to a complete understanding and appreciation of the arts as an industry as well as the role of the arts in the community. Emphasis is placed on non-profit arts organizations. The program is designed to develop not only professional arts administrators, but also life-long audience members, volunteers, and patrons. Students graduating from the Arts Administration concentration are well-prepared to pursue an advanced degree or a career as a professional arts administrator.

Highlights:

  • Students are required to participate in professional internships/apprenticeships with arts and cultural institutions in areas such as marketing, development, and administration.
  • Arts Administration students can choose to easily add a Business Administration minor with the addition of ISDS 1100 Intro to Management Information Systems, MGT 3200 Principles of Management, and FIN 3715 Business Finance.

Arts Administration Requires completion of Introduction To Arts Management, Arts Marketing, Fundraising for the Arts, 6 Hours of Internship, Economic Principles, Survey of Accounting.
