CHSE Online Programs Stand Out in the U.S. News & World Report Rankings

These ranked programs are among more than 1,800 programs surveyed by U.S. News. This recognition underscores our dedication to the delivery of top-quality, accessible education tailored to meet diverse student needs.

“The College of Human Sciences & Education is dedicated to providing excellent, affordable online programming that gives students an opportunity to fit education into their busy lives. Many of our online courses are taught by the same full-time faculty that provide high-grade quality instruction on campus, and recognition of their hard work from U.S. News & World Report is a testament to the focus and effort they put into serving our students’ needs,” said LSU College of Human Sciences & Education Dean Roland Mitchell.

This year, U.S. News ranked 303 schools across the nation that offer online master’s degrees based on five categories: engagement, faculty credentials and training, peer assessments, services and technology, and student excellence. The veteran rankings are based on accessibility to internet-based coursework, affordability, number of students with military backgrounds, and factors related to academic quality, such as faculty credentials and retention rates.

The LSU College of Human Sciences & Education is home to 45.5 percent of all LSU main campus online students. Of note, the college’s undergraduate online programs grew 83 percent last year. 75 percent of all main campus online graduate students major in an LSU CHSE online program.

About CHSE

The College of Human Sciences & Education (CHSE) is a nationally accredited division of Louisiana State University. The college is comprised of the School of Education, the School of Information Studies, the School of Kinesiology, the School of Leadership & Human Resource Development, and the School of Social Work. CHSE has two model demonstration schools, the Early Childhood Education Laboratory Preschool, enrolling birth to age four and the University Laboratory School enrolling Kindergarten through grade 12.
