Mission

The Office oversees a comprehensive personal and professional development program to provide leadership, support, and advocacy, and to promote academic quality, through these main areas:

Faculty Recruitment

  • Support the recruitment and retention of outstanding and diverse faculty members
  • Monitor strategic faculty recruitment goals and targets

Faculty Development

  • Coordinate, plan, implement, and communicate college-wide faculty development offerings that ensure effective and successful recruitment, appointment, retention, and promotion of faculty
  • Oversee the appointments and promotions process
  • Manage faculty award processes
  • Expand participation in national and international groups that assist or promote faculty affairs, leadership, and professional development

Staff Development

  • Facilitate access to training and compliance requirements
  • Coordinate, plan, implement and communicate college-wide staff development offerings
  • Manage cross training programs

Faculty Governance

  • Foster the development, implementation, and interpretation of faculty policies
  • Administer conflict of interest, disclosure, and review policies
  • Liaise with directors regarding Professional Leave matters
