Welcome Home

Welcome Week 2020

August 15-23, 2020

Welcome Week Information

Welcome Week is the final phase of your orientation to LSU. This exciting event takes place right before the semester begins so that you can be completely comfortable and prepared to start your experience at LSU.

We know that students who attend Welcome Week are more confident when they start classes and are more successful throughout their time at LSU. This is because they have had the time to meet new friends, have learned about the resources that will help them to be successful here at LSU, and know what it means to be a true LSU Tiger. It’s also a lot of fun! Attendance at Welcome Week August 15-23 is mandatory for all members of the Class of 2024, and we can’t wait to see you back on campus!

All new students are required to participate in a faculty or staff-led small group. Groups will be assigned based on your move-in date and academic major, and will meet three times during Welcome Week.

Placement Exams

If applicable, students should consider taking all placement exams during Welcome Week. Placement exams will be offered in a virtual and in-person format.

  • Virtual Option – Complete your exams online through ProctorU for a $15 fee per exam.
  • In-Person Option – Take the exams free of charge on campus during Welcome Week.

Visit the LSU Testing & Evaluation website for full testing details and preparation guides.

Choose Your Adventure Schedule

Choose Your Adventures events provide students with an opportunity to learn more about campus, each other, and college life in general through a series of educational and social events sponsored by University departments, colleges, student organizations, and residence halls. Some events will require advanced registration due to space or capacity limitations, so be sure to sign up. Students will need to consider their assigned small group time and days when determining which events to attend. Group assignments will be sent on Thursday, August 13th
