Welcome Week logo

Welcome Week Information

Welcome Week is the second part of your orientation to LSU (after the one-day Orientation). This exciting event takes place right before the fall semester begins so that you can be completely comfortable and prepared to start your experience at LSU.

We know that students who attend Welcome Week are more confident when they start classes and are more successful throughout their time at LSU. This is because they have had the time to meet new friends, have learned about the resources that will help them to be successful here at LSU, and know what it means to be a true LSU Tiger. It’s also a lot of fun! Attendance at Welcome Week August 17-24 is mandatory* for all members of the Class of 2023, and we can’t wait to see you back on campus!

*Students who are attending an LSU event that may conflict with Welcome Week (e.g. recruitment, Encounter Engineering, Theater/Music Boot Camp, Tiger Band, Athletics, etc.) are encouraged to discuss with their group’s administrator which Welcome Week events they should attend.*
