Update on COVID Protocols

Dear LSU community,

Now that we’re in our fourth week of classes, I wanted to update you on LSU’s COVID protocols and mitigation efforts through this video.

So far, more than 81% of students and 72% of faculty and staff have provided proof of vaccination, with the numbers rising each day. Those who remain unvaccinated will undergo regular COVID testing. Our overall positivity rate is about 4%, significantly lower than the greater Baton Rouge area.

I’m proud of our community for our collective commitment to keeping LSU safe. These numbers are no less than incredible, especially in a state where less than half of the residents are vaccinated.

Overall, we couldn’t be more pleased with the results of our COVID protocols. I thank you for your ongoing patience and support as we continue our work toward ensuring a safe and healthy LSU for all.
