UPDATE: Classes Held Remotely, LSU Campus Closed Wed., April 10
April 09, 2024
Updated, 4/9/2024; 9:20 p.m.
Due to the developing severe weather situation the LSU campus will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, April 10. Faculty will hold all classes remotely or in an asynchronous format, and should communicate directly with their students about this change.
Residence Halls will remain open and on-campus residents should follow the instructions of Residential Life staff regarding operations and meals. The LSU Dining website and LSU Dining social media will continue to be updated with information regarding meal availability.
Essential employees should check with their supervisors about whether they should report to campus on Wednesday. The Office of Human Resource Management will send instructions for time entry for the weather-related closure to all timekeepers in a follow-up email.
The University Laboratory School and the LSU Early Childhood Education Laboratory Preschool will communicate directly with their parents, and the Law Center and the Vet School will communicate separately with their students and staff about their operations.
The LSU Office of Emergency Preparedness (OEP) will be closely monitoring this weather event. As we continue to closely monitor conditions any updates or changes will be communicated. Please stay weather alert tonight and throughout the day tomorrow by watching weather forecasts and staying informed.
Please watch your LSU email account, LSU.edu, @LSU social media channels, and LSU emergency text messaging for any possible updates. Those who have not signed up for emergency text messages should do so at myLSU by clicking on “Personal Preferences” and “Emergency Contacts.”
