LSU to Award More Than 1,000 Degrees During Summer Commencement

BATON ROUGE – More than 1,000 LSU students are expected to graduate during LSU’s 311th commencement ceremonies on Friday, Aug. 11, in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

Graduates will receive a digital version of their diploma on the day of their ceremony and will receive a diploma cover at commencement. Printed diplomas will be shipped to graduates.

            LSU will hold one main ceremony on Aug. 11 – beginning at 9 a.m. The ceremony will be livestreamed. More information and links to watch the livestream are available here

During the ceremony the national anthem will be performed by Cara Williams, candidate for Doctor of Musical Arts. Wu-Ji Khoo and Eunchong Kang will perform the LSU Alma Mater. Kang is also a candidate for a Doctor of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance. Vocalists will be accompanied by the Norem Brass Quintet, which is comprised of LSU School of Music faculty members.

At this time, here is what you can expect:

  • There are no restrictions on the number of attending guests.
  • Graduates will be invited to walk across the stage while their names are called.
  • Doors will open approximately one hour prior to the start of the ceremony. 
  • Clear bags will not be required. However, all bags will be subject to a search upon entry.
