ROTC Cadets Commissioned as Part of Spring 2023 Commencement Exercises

BATON ROUGE – Fifteen LSU graduates were recognized during LSU’s spring commissioning ceremony on Thursday, May 18, in The Student Union Theater. Lt. Gen. Milford H. Beagle, Commanding General of the U.S. Army Combined Arms Center and Fort Leavenworth, Kan., served as keynote speaker for the ceremony.
Frankfurt, Germany – 2nd Lt. William David Bassett received a Bachelor of Science degree from the E. J. Ourso College of Business in business management with minors in horticultural botany and professional leadership development. After graduation, Bassett will report to the 342nd Transportation Detachment in Baton Rouge, La.
Memphis, Tenn. – 2nd Lt. Gabrielle Fitzgerald Arkle received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Humanities & Social Sciences in political science. After graduation, Arkle will report to B Co. 1-111th Aviation Regiment in Meridian, Mississippi, and will also attend flight school at Fort Novosel, Ala.
Mineola, N.Y. – 2nd Lt. Julius Paul Duic received a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Engineering in computer sciences with a concentration in software engineering and a minor in robotics engineering. After graduation, Duic will report to the 436th Transportation Battalion at Fort Wadsworth in Staten Island, N.Y.
Pineville, La. – 2nd Lt. Nicholas Rupert Green received a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Engineering in construction management with a minor in business administration and tech sales. After graduation, Green will report to the 205th Ordnance Detachment at Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson, Alaska.
Leesville, La. – 2nd Lt. Jamigh Demorcellas James received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Humanities & Social Sciences in sociology with a concentration in criminology. After graduation, James will report to the 336 Financial Management Support Center in Lake Charles, La.
Farmington, N.M. – 2nd Lt. Wyatt Gregory Hubby received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Humanities & Social Sciences in international studies with minors in political science, history, professional leadership development, and Arabic studies. After graduation, Hubby will report to the 3200th Strategic Intelligence Group in Fort Belvoir, Va.
Slidell, La. – 2nd Lt. Kyle Edward Pichon received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Humanities & Social Sciences in sociology with a concentration in criminology and a minor in professional leadership development. After graduation, Pichon will report to the 1st Battalion, 5th Field Artillery Regiment at Fort Riley, Kan.
Evans, Ga. – 2nd Lt. Anthony Alan Foulks Jr. received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Humanities & Social Sciences in sociology with a concentration in criminology. After graduation, Foulks will report to the 2nd Brigade Combat Team at Ft. Stewart in Savannah, Ga.
Prairieville, La. – 2nd Lt. Jervey Clint Cheveallier, received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Humanities & Social Sciences in disaster science and management. After graduation, Cheveallier reports to the 17th Training Wing at Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo, Texas, as an Intelligence Officer in Training.
Covington, La. – 2nd Lt. Austin Philip Firmin received a Bachelor of Science degree from the E. J. Ourso College of Business in general business. After graduation, Firmin reports to Undergraduate Pilot training in the 14th Flying Training Wing at Columbus Air Force Base in Columbus, Miss., as a Pilot in Training.
Pine Prairie, La. – 2nd Lt. Cort Zachery Fuller received a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Engineering in computer science. After graduation, Fuller reports to the 333rd Training Squadron at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Miss., as a Cyberspace Operations Officer in Training.
Philadelphia, Pa. – 2nd Lt. Vaughn La received a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Human Sciences & Education in kinesiology. La reports to 479th Flying Training Group at Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Fla, as an Undergraduate Combat Systems Officer in Training.
Liberty, Miss. – 2nd Lt. Christopher Daniel Lambert received a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Agriculture in natural resources ecology and management. Lambert reports to the 479th Flying Training Group at Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Fla., as an Undergraduate Combat Systems Officer in Training.
Leesville, La. – 2nd Lt. Kyle Dillan Michalk received a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Engineering in construction management. Michalk reports to the Lifecycle Management Center at Eglin Air Force Base in Destin, Fla., as an Acquisitions Management Officer.
Yigo, Guam – 2nd Lieutenant Madison Destiny Sommers received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Humanities & Social Sciences in international studies. Sommers reports to the 52nd Fighter Wing Spangdahlem Air Base in Spangdahlem, Germany, as a Public Affairs Officer.
In addition, four graduates from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette who took part in LSU’s Army ROTC program were commissioned on Friday, May 12.
ULL Army ROTC
Morgan City, La.– 2nd Lt. Kim (Michael) Crappell will receive a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering. Crappell’s bars were pinned on by his parents, Kim and Kimberly Crappell. After graduation, Crappell reports to Basic Officer Leaders Course at U.S. Army Fort Leonard Wood, Okla. Crappell received his first salute from his mentor Louisiana Army Staff Sergeant Kent Goolsby.
Opelousas, La. – 2nd Lt. Cameron Meche will receive a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering. Meche’s bars were pinned on by his parents Scott and Lennie Meche. After graduation, Meche reports to the Louisiana Army National Guard. Meche received his first salute from Louisiana Army National Guard Sergeant First Class Joshua Sweat.
Dodge City, Kan. – 2nd Lt. Kameron Miller will receive a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. Miller’s bars were pinned on by his wife, Perla Miller. After graduation, Miller reports to U.S. Army Reserve Unit in Kansas. Miller received his first salute from U.S. Army Sergeant First Class Caesar Ramirez.
Howard City, Mich. – 2nd Lt. Andras Palmer will receive a Master of Arts degree in accounting. Palmer’s bars were pinned by his parents, Ralph and Zsuzsanna Palmer. After graduation, Palmer reports to the Michigan Army National Guard. Palmer received his first salute from U.S. Army Sergeant Chance Daigle.
