Johanna A. Posada

Associate General Counsel

Johanna provides counsel to LSU institutions on issues related to higher education. Her responsibilities include assisting the General Counsel and the Deputy General Counsel.

Prior to joining LSU, she was an attorney with an established Baton Rouge firm, where she handled general civil and large commercial litigation, government and municipality representation, regulatory, corporate and business representation, immigration, environmental and some misdemeanor cases.

Johanna started her legal career as a paralegal handling criminal defense and high volume insurance defense work, then moving to a national firm handling immigration and family law. She continued her paralegal role while earning her Juris Doctorate.

Johanna is an adjunct professor at Southern University Law Center and a writing fellow for SULC’s Supplemental Bar Program.

Johanna is fluent in Spanish and proficient in Italian.
