I do the work that I do because I believe in people! When I was in college, I had mentors that believed so strongly in the process of developing truly good people that, in turn, aided in the development of great communities. Additionally, I think it is so important to have someone that understands the process of growth that students go through as well. There is a lot of development that happens for everyone when you are in school and sometimes that development is a bit more challenging. I've been on that end of things and was able to be a great leader and community member because I had great mentors. They led me on this path through the blueprints they left behind. On this journey into Higher Education I have learned that I love nurturing and developing future leaders, planners, supporters, etc.! I really want to continue doing that!

"One of the biggest things that I learned was how important it is to fully invest in the family/village that you create when you are in college. Some of these people will literally become your family! Some of you will come into adulthood with pieces of your village already built, others of you are coming in looking for a fresh start...either way, invest in your village! My village is a mix of my childhood best friends and the friends I made along the way and through fully investing in these friendships, we have been able to navigate so much life together!" -Cheniqua

Little did you know

I REALLY love scary horror movies! This fact does not align with my sunny disposition!

One thing first-year students should know

You are going to make a mistake or two, you are human and that is absolutely normal. The goal is to make small mistakes, not bad habits!
