2024-25 Rucks Fellows Announced

BATON ROUGE - The Rucks Department of Management at the E. J. Ourso College of Business acknowledges outstanding students as Rucks Fellows. These students are chosen by the faculty and represent the highest level of academic achievement among senior management majors in any of the department's concentrations. To be eligible, the student must be among the top graduating seniors in the management curriculum based on their grade-point average.
The students selected for the 2024-2025 Rucks Fellows class are Emily Demps of Smyrna, Georgia; Sierra Duncan of Thibodaux, Louisiana; Soriah Henry of New Orleans; John Huber of Wyomissing, Pennsylvania; Molly Inman of Lake Charles, Louisiana; Amelia Morgan of Lafayette, Louisiana; Megan Murphey of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Paige Snyder of Laytonsville, Maryland; Landon Ulrich of Pineville, Louisiana and Jeane Wong of Bogalusa, Louisiana.
Emily Demps is pursuing a bachelor's in management with a concentration in international management and minors in political science and Louisiana Service and Leadership (LASAL). She is also a member of the Roger Hadfield Ogden Honors College. Demps' academic journey has been shaped by research, including an undergraduate thesis examining portion size, food waste and customer value perception in restaurants. She is passionate about food equity and supply chain management, focusing on creating sustainable and equitable solutions in the food and beverage industry. Through internships, leadership roles and other hands-on experiences, she has developed a strong foundation in business strategy, operations and social impact.
Sierra Duncan is pursuing a bachelor's in management with a concentration in human resource management. Duncan's summer internship with Breaux Petroleum Products solidified her desire to enter the human resource profession. In addition to allowing the practical application of coursework, she developed skills not typically taught in the classroom. She is exploring all facets of corporate recruiting during an internship with MMR Group, where she plans to work full-time after graduation. Duncan is an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) at LSU and intends to become active with the Greater Baton Rouge SHRM chapter after graduation.
Soriah Henry is pursuing a bachelor's in management with a concentration in strategic leadership. As a financial representative at Northwestern Mutual, she has gained a strong foundation in financial planning and client relations. Her experience in fitness supervision and retail management has further honed her leadership, operational efficiency and team-building skills. While completing a store leadership internship at Kohl's, Henry developed omnichannel retail strategies and team management expertise. Additionally, her work in e-commerce strategy at Boehringer Ingelheim enhanced her ability to drive business growth. Passionate about results-driven leadership, she is eager to apply her skills in a dynamic business environment and plans to pursue an MBA after graduation.
John Huber is a Roger Hadfield Ogden Honors College student pursuing degrees in management with a concentration in international management and economics with a minor in energy. Originally from the Philadelphia area, Huber chose LSU because he wanted his collegiate education to be at an epicenter for energy and petrochemical research. Huber's strong interest in energy markets has driven his academic research, focusing on energy infrastructure, market dynamics, and the economic forces shaping global energy trade. He has been deeply involved in Greek Life at LSU, serving as the risk reduction chair for his fraternity, Sigma Nu, and vice president of recruitment for the Interfraternity Council. Upon graduation, he plans to move to Houston to pursue a career in the oil and gas Industry.
Molly Inman graduated in December with a bachelor’s in management with a concentration in strategic leadership. In addition to her studies, she gained valuable business insight through her consulting internship with Acadian Capital Group. She served as both president and vice president of finance for LSU's chapter of the Society of Human Resource Management. She also served as vice president of chapter operations and vice president of pledge education for Delta Sigma Pi, a professional business fraternity. Inman plans to remain at LSU to pursue an MBA focusing on management consulting.
Amelia Morgan is pursuing a bachelor's in management with a concentration in strategic leadership and a minor in textiles, merchandising and apparel. Her internships with Rafanelli Events, BuddyLove, and Nardos Design have provided a variety of professional experiences in the event and fashion industries. Morgan served as the director of recruitment events and director of lifetime membership for Delta Delta Delta sorority. She also serves as the senior fashion show chair for the Fashion Association at LSU, planning the university's largest fashion show this spring.
Megan Murphey is pursuing a bachelor's degree in management with a concentration in strategic leadership. She served as both the president and treasurer for Phi Mu Sorority. Most recently, she became the Baton Rouge store operator for Caroline's Cookies, a local cookie shop. After graduation, Murphey will attend the LSU Flores MBA program to continue her management studies.
Paige Snyder is pursuing a bachelor's degree in business management with a concentration in strategic leadership and a minor in communication studies. In addition to serving in various leadership roles in Pi Beta Phi sorority, Snyder is currently the vice president of membership for Women in Business at LSU. She is a student worker for LSU's human resource compensation team. Additionally, she has experience as an administrative intern at MedStar Health, the largest hospital system in the Maryland and Washington, D.C. region. After graduation, she is excited to return to the Washington metropolitan area to pursue a career in healthcare administration.
Landon Ulrich is pursuing a bachelor's degree in management with a concentration in human resource management and a minor in psychology. Ulrich works as a content tutor for LSU student-athletes, assisting students in courses such as business calculus, economics and management. He has also gained hands-on experience as a human resources intern at RoyOMartin, supporting data analysis, recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement and research initiatives. Outside of academics and work, Ulrich enjoys spending time outdoors, being with friends and family and participating in community activities. After graduation, he plans to pursue an MBA and/or a law degree.
Jeane Wong earned bachelor's degrees in accounting and management with a concentration in human resource management in December. She was an active member of Delta Sigma Pi, a professional business fraternity, holding executive positions where she developed transformative leadership skills. In addition, Wong was part of Student Support Services and served as a mentor, offering academic guidance and support to first-generation, low-income and disabled students. In spring 2024, she studied in Viterbo, Italy, where she immersed herself in the local culture and expanded her global perspective. After graduation, Wong joined LaPorte CPAs & Business Advisors' Houston office.
About the Rucks Fellows Program
Thanks to a generous gift from William W. and Catherine M. Rucks, 10 graduating seniors in the management curriculum are recognized each year as Rucks Fellows. Announcements will be made in the fall and spring semesters. To enrich their development as future business leaders, these students receive opportunities not available to others, including the chance to interact with faculty and business leaders at special events, preferential enrollment in management courses, recognition during graduation, and the distinction of identifying themselves as Rucks Fellows.
