LSU Department of Marketing Professors Secure Sizable Grant from the Louisiana Board of Regents
June 18, 2021
LSU Department of Marketing faculty members and principal investigators Kris Lindsey Hall and Dan Rice have successfully secured a five-year, $461,000 research grant from the Louisiana Board of Regents Departmental Enhancement-Comprehensive Program.
Their proposal, titled “SEEDER FOR GROWTH LA” (Strategic Eye-tracking and Emotional Designs in Experimental Research for Optimally Reinforcing and Growing Research & Outreach Wins That Help LA), is an important component to the holistic strategy being implemented by the Department of Marketing to accomplish its goals related to research, teaching, faculty development, and community engagement to benefit Louisiana. The grant will expand the biometric measurement capabilities of the E. J. Ourso College of Business’s Behavioral Research Lab and improve data integration to ensure continued excellence in behavioral research and maintain the lab’s competitive advantage over peer institutions.
In addition to Hall and Rice, the project team includes Department of Marketing faculty members Nawar Chaker, Andrew Long, Andrew Kuo, Courtney Szocs, and Jianan Wu.
The Louisiana Board of Regents is a state agency created by the 1974 Louisiana Constitution that coordinates all public higher education in Louisiana. The Board began operations on January 1, 1975, succeeding the Coordinating Council for Higher Education. The 15 volunteer members of the Board of Regents are appointed by the Governor to six-year, overlapping terms, with at least one (but not more than two) Regents drawn from each of Louisiana’s seven Congressional districts. In addition, the Louisiana Council of Student Body Presidents appoints one student member as its representative on the board.
