Testing & Evaluation Services - Summer 2021

The LSU Testing Center (Himes 52) is closed for computer based testing for Summer 2021. OTES will be providing the following services for the Summer 2021 Semester:

  • Paper and pencil testing space for LSU courses
  • Placement exams for incoming freshmen
  • Credit by examination for continuing and incoming transfer students
  • Scantron exam scoring for faculty
  • Test creation with Questionmark
  • Support with ProctorU
  • Course evaluations

What Faculty Need to Know for Summer Semester Testing

As you are developing your Summer 2021 courses, please consider the following information in planning your assessments:

  • The LSU Testing Center will not be open in the Summer 2021
  • If you plan to offer remotely-proctored exams, faculty are required to provide advanced notice to students. Please see the faculty section of the Remote Proctoring page.

  • The Office of Testing & Evaluation Services administers placement exams for incoming freshman, and credit by examination for continuing and incoming transfer students. Students who take placement exams/credit by examination have the ability to earn course credit, the score on each exam effects the course enrollment level.   • Faculty who are planning to utilize remote proctoring for the Summer 2021 Semester, please visit the Remote Proctoring page, which includes general information regarding remote proctoring and specific information on utilizing ProctorU.

  • Questionmark is a robust test-creation/delivery software that allows faculty to create course assessments and view comprehensive reporting and analytics. For additional information about Questionmark and how to create a faculty account, please visit the Questionmark page.

  • The LSU Office of Testing and Evaluation Services will provide on campus locations for flex-scheduling/hybrid courses to take paper and pencil test. For additional information about scheduling paper and pencil testing space, please visit the Paper and Pencil Testing page.

  • Disability Services Testing Center plans to be open during the summer semester. However, due to necessary reduction in testing capacity in order to provide appropriate social distancing, the testing center will only be proctoring paper-based exams and a limited number of computer-based exams for students with disabilities.
  • Students must register to take an exam in Disability Services via the Exam Request Form. All exam requests must be submitted at least three business days in advance.
