LSU Joins Team to Examine Sources of Methane Along Louisiana's Coast

September 27, 2022

Researchers from LSU’s Department of Oceanography & Coastal Sciences are joining a multi-institutional team to investigate factors affecting natural methane emissions, using a $2.91 million grant from the National Science Foundation. They will be working in a location close to home: Louisiana’s coastal wetlands.

"Nearly 1 billion people around the globe live in proximity to similar coastal wetlands, so that the results of this research will have broad applicability to solving large-scale problems,” LSU’s Department of Oceanography & Coastal Sciences Professors Haosheng Huang said.
