The National Institutes of Health has selected the LA CaTS Network, a partnership among several LSU campuses and other major Louisiana academic, research and healthcare institutions, for a $20 million grant for its work to make Louisiana healthier.

Strengthening biomedical research represents a foundational pillar of LSU’s Scholarship First commitment,” said William F. Tate IV, LSU president. “The LA CaTS Network’s research contributions align seamlessly with our broader research strategy, and this additional $20 million in NIH grant funding assures we can continue to improve Louisiana’s research infrastructure.”

With eight institutions spanning Louisiana and all levels of higher education and research, LSU facilitates and promotes interdisciplinary research to meet the challenge of improving the state’s health outcomes head-on.
