Do you want to shape the skylines of tomorrow through innovation and reimagining how we live, work, and connect?

Major in Architecture

What is architecture?

Architecture is the art and science of designing the structures and environments where life happens — from homes and parks to schools and city skylines. When you major in architecture, you'll learn how to blend creativity, function, and sustainability to design places that impact communities, with respect to social, ecological, technological, and health factors that impact our environment. Grow as an architect and designer by understanding spatial qualities, use of materials, and the relationship between people and their surroundings.

Program Highlights
Design Rooted in Place Directly confront real-world issues like flood resilience through the unique cultural and geographical settings of southeastern Louisiana, the lower Mississippi Delta, and the Gulf South — and graduate ready to strengthen communities locally, nationally, and worldwide.
Studio Culture From day one, our studio environments, like the Foundation Design Studio, are the foundation of learning. Dive into principles, methods, and the creative process through individual critiques and studio-wide reviews.
Beyond the Classroom Build solar pavilions for a service-learning project, mentor high schoolers during the Project Pipeline summer camp, or design a 20-year vision plan for the Vietnamese Tam Bao community.
Cutting Edge Facilites Upgrade your creativity with modeling technology and 3D printing in our Fabrication Lab, woodworking in the Design Shop, and design award-winning concepts rooted in real-life site assessments in the Coastal Sustainability Studio.
