Dr. Kory Konsoer appointed as Associate Director for the LSU Center for River Studies
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Kory Konsoer (Associate Professor in Dept. of Geography & Anthropology) has been appointed as Associate Director for the LSU Center for River Studies. Dr. Konsoer is a Fluvial Geomorphologist, whose research uses a combination of field methods, remote sensing, and numerical modeling to better understand how river systems change through time. His research also focuses on how human activities have impacted interactions between riverine and coastal environments. He is excited to continue working on vital research related to the Mississippi River and the sustainability of Louisiana’s coast, and helping to train the next generation of river scientists. “I am happy that Kory has agreed to be our Associate Director. His background and expertise, in the field, lab, and classroom, will significantly increase the quality and impact of the work we are doing at the Center,” Dr. Clint Willson, Director of the LSU Center for River Studies, and Dean of the College of the Coast and Environment.
