Students from the Archaeology lab in the Department of Geography and Anthropology had the great opportunity to participate in a Louisiana Archaeology Month activity at the LSU Campus Mounds Thursday morning, October 30, 2024. They sifted soil from some recent work by Facilities Service, organized by Dr. Irene Marti Gil (LSU Museum of Natural Sciences) and Josetta Leboeuf (State of Louisiana Division of Archaeology). Students included undergrad students Amanda Meaux, Ben Winkelman, Jalayne Allison, Peyton Scoskie, and Finley May, as well as graduate students Sarah Miller, Alex Broussard, Jean Wood, Alex Belanger, and Conan Mills. Division of Archaeology staff also participated (Sadie Whitehurst and Karla Oesch). LSU Archaeology students look forward to more opportunities with the LA State Division of Archaeology and LSU Museum of Natural Sciences!
