Archaeologist co-authors article on ancient Andean politics
Professor David Chicoine, in collaboration with George Lau, Milton Lujan and Jacob Bongers, co-authored a research article on "The Rise of Native Lordships at Pashash, A.D. 200–600, North Highlands of Ancash, Peru" in the Journal of Field Archaeology. The open access article explores the rise of native, segmentary lordships in the highlands of north-central Peru and exposes excavations and mapping at Pashash, a center of the Recuay culture. The article is part of a broader research program that examines the rise of divine lordships in north-central Peru.
