Coastal LA AMS Meeting - Feb. 21
The next meeting of the Coastal Louisiana chapter of the American Meteorological Society (CLAMS) has been scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 21 at 6:45 PM. The meeting will once again be held in the Dalton Woods Auditorium of the Energy, Coast, and Environment building at LSU. Similar to the last meeting, we will spend about 15 minutes taking care of some business items, with a presentation scheduled to begin around 7 PM.
The presentation titled "South Louisiana's Radar Coverage Vulnerability & Possible
Solutions" will be presented by Steve Caparotta, a broadcast meteorologist with a
Ph.D. from LSU. The talk will use the record-setting 2016 tornado outbreak as a case
study and examine possible ways to address the radar coverage gaps.
