Student Employment

Student employment is an invaluable opportunity for students to develop career competencies and build community while working to meet educational expenses. LSU offers a variety of student employment experiences across many academic and administrative departments, allowing students to seek out work experiences that fit their interests and skill set.

LSU Student Employment intends to:

  • Offers students valuable learning experiences to complement college and career goals
  • Provides students with financial support and community while doing meaningful work
  • Prepares students for life beyond the university, including developing career competencies
  • Meets the needs of the University and other LSU partner employers to perform day-to-day operations

Students can browse and apply for student employment opportunities on and off-campus in Handshake, LSU's online career platform. Continuing students can browse Handshake for openings at any time through their Handshake account, and incoming students will be able to search for jobs after getting access to their Handshake accounts following orientation.

Most Fall student employment positions are posted by June 1 each year and most Spring positions are posted by November.
