Video: Memorial Tower an Iconic Symbol of LSU's Rich Military History

January 01, 2023

One of LSU's most prominent landmarks, Memorial Tower, also know as the Campanile, was built in 1923 and dedicated in 1926 as a memorial to Louisianans who died in World War I, whose names appear on bronze plaques on the rotunda walls.

The tower also houses the William A. Brookshire LSU Military Museum.

The tower's chimes ring every quarter hour, including the university's Alma Mater each day at noon.
