Research

Dr. Leitner's main academic interests are in the research and application of geospatial technology, mainly GIS, GPS, and spatial analysis/modeling/mapping to the geographies of crime and health.  Ongoing research discusses the spatiotemporal forecasting of crime events, geospatial privacy issues, and various aspects of the association between lithium in drinking water and suicide mortality.
