The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) has recognized Sandra Sarr, Communications Manager at LSU Vet Med, with a writing award for her piece titled "Lynn & Chloe: Dynamic Duo for Life."

This heartwarming feature tells the incredible story of a rescue dog who unexpectedly saves the life of her new owner, only to later lose her eyesight and receive specialized care at LSU Vet Med. The narrative unfolds with remarkable twists, offering a story of healing, resilience and hope that tugs at the heartstrings.

In their award announcement, CASE, a world leader in advancing education, stated, "Your innovative storytelling will inspire many others in the months and years ahead. We proudly celebrate your achievements."

Reflecting on how she discovered the story, Sandra said, “I am always on the lookout for compelling stories. During a photoshoot at our Veterinary Teaching Hospital, I noticed a man holding a small dog in a diabetic alert service dog vest. The dog appeared to be blind. After chatting with the man, he shared an extraordinary story about how he rescued her—and how, in less than 48 hours, she ended up rescuing him."

Dean Oliver Garden said, "This recognition is richly deserved. We are truly very fortunate to have you and your gift for storytelling as part of our exceptional Strategic Communications & Marketing team at LSU Vet Med."
