Dean's Grand Rounds

Dean's Grand Rounds take place during fall and spring semesters (January, March, April, August, September, October, and November) on the last Wednesday of the month at 8 a.m. in the LSU Vet Med Auditorium. Each February, Dean's Grand Rounds is replaced by Phi Zeta Research Emphasis Day.

Dean's Grand Rounds: Tales of the Tigers

LSU has had a live tiger since October 21, 1936. For 40 years, LSU Athletics provided the tiger's care. LSU Vet Med took over the tiger's care in 1976 with Mike III. From 1936 to the present, there have been 70 tiger caretakers; forty-six of those have been veterinary students. For the September Dean's Grand Rounds, we will hear from caretakers for Mikes IV, VI, and VII.
