Biography

Ryan Wang (Ph.D., Pennsylvania State University), is an assistant professor in political communication at the LSU Manship School of Mass Communication. His main research interests are two-fold: (1) how digital infrastructure influences political behaviors within the U.S. context and (2) how digital/social media facilitate the formation and dissemination of public opinion. Wang is interested in combining computational methods and social (media) data to advance our understanding on the relationship between ICT and democracy, to promote public participation in democracies, and to foster a more informed, just and equitable democratic society.
