Academic Advising

The Center for Advising and Counseling (UCAC) serves as the advising center for enrolled students at LSU who are no longer eligible for UCFY enrollment (beyond 30 attempted hours) and have not yet met the requirements for senior college admissions.  Advising is available for LSU Health Sciences Center allied health programs and for prepharmacy Programs as well.

We are here to serve your academic advising needs. Make it a point to connect with us by:

Appointments

Appointments are expected for scheduling time with a counselor.  You can make an appointment online utilizing our “Make an Appointment” link on the UCAC homepage. You may also call our office at 225-578-8281 to schedule an appointment.

Walk-in visit to 150 Himes Hall

Walk-in visits are sometimes possible, but on a limited basis. When you arrive in 150 Himes Hall, you will be asked to check-in at the front receptionist area to determine if you can be seen and the expected wait time.

Sending an email

You can send an email inquiry to ucac@lsu.edu and one of our counselors will respond to you within one business day. Or, you can send an email to one of our staff by clicking on the "Center for Advising & Counseling Staff" icon on our home page and finding the email address for a specific staff member.

It is also advisable for UCAC students to be connecting with their respective senior college’s advisors.
