Why did you choose to attend LSU?
I chose to attend LSU largely because of the opportunities available to me not only in my studies, but in extracurricular activities. There is a club or organization for everyone. Also, the Stamps Scholarship is an amazing and humbling opportunity that is impossible to pass up.

What extracurricular programs are you involved in?
I am a member of the Freshman Leadership Council, and I am involved in research in the Department of Chemical Engineering under Dr. Christopher Arges, focused on the upgrading of alkanes and testing conductivity.

What is your proudest accomplishment at LSU?
My proudest accomplishment so far at LSU is being selected to join the Freshman Leadership Council. Throughout the remainder of my time at LSU, I hope to be able to become more involved in Student Government, as well as take advantage of study abroad opportunities and research.

What does receiving the Stamps Scholarship mean to you and your family?
Receiving the Stamps Scholarship is a dream come true. It is a blessing to be able to focus on my education and diverse experiences without the financial burden. My family and I are beyond thankful for this outstanding opportunity.

How do you intend to use your Stamps Scholar enrichment funds?
I plan on using a portion of my Stamps Scholar enrichment funds to study abroad with the Ogden Honors College in Oxford this summer. The best way to learn about a culture and to fully appreciate it is to be immersed in that culture. Traveling to Oxford and studying British literature is impossible to pass up.

What are your future career aspirations?
In my future, I plan on going into industry or continuing my education for a master’s and Doctor of Philosophy in Chemical Engineering. Also, I hope to see more fuel- and cost-efficient ways for chemical plants to produce products with less pollution to the surroundings. I plan on continuing to participate in research to find a way to make my goal a reality.

Meet more Stamps Scholars.
