ChE Undergraduate Researcher Juan Rubio Publishes Paper
Juan Rubio, an undergraduate researcher in Professor Arges's lab published a paper, with collaborators from University of New Mexico and the University of the West of England, in Bioelectrochemistry. This paper describes the use of patterned and non-patterned sodium sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) cation exchange membranes for simultaneous water desalination and power generation in microbial desalination cells. The anode fuel came from a municipal sewage stream and the salt water that was desalinated hailed from the Pacific Ocean. Congrats Juan!
