LSU TO HOST 2018 AICHE SOUTHERN REGIONAL CONFERENCE

LSU is pleased to be hosting the 2018 American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Southern Regional Conference (SRC) come April 6th and 7th.  The Southern Regional Conference is an event in which approximately 400 chemical engineering students and 50 faculty members from roughly 25 departments congregate to participate in a weekend of competitions, workshops, and social events. Events range from the ChemE car competition in which a shoebox sized car is powered off of a chemical reaction to workshops that relay crucial information to young engineers such as how to get the most rewarding experience out of your internship or first job. To allow students to garner a first-hand look at what a young engineer in the workplace may encounter, industrial plant tours will be possible for interested attendees. The event will wrap up with a formal banquet in which a keynote speaker will impart their words of wisdom to the students.
