Visitor Etiquette

Please help us keep the gardens beautiful and safe for everyone. Please respect the gardens by using the trash receptacles. Smoking is prohibited in all buildings and on the grounds. This is a teaching and research facility. Please stay on the paths and do not pick or remove anything from the gardens. Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash. Please supervise your children at all times for their safety and for the welfare of our plants. Watch children especially near all water features. Bicycling is allowed on the main road to access the Burden Museum and Gardens Information Center and the Rural Life Museum Visitors Center but bicycles and motor vehicles are not allowed on the trails. Skating, skateboarding, and roller-blading are not allowed.

Photography

Photographers are welcome at the Botanic Gardens. We are pleased that you appreciate the beauty found in this tranquil garden setting. Photographers are required to have a photography pass. Please do not move benches or labels, stage children in trees or plantings, or block pathways with equipment. These areas protect small plants and the roots of others. Please respect the gardens, plants, and other visitors at all times.

All photography with a professional style camera requires a photography pass. See our Photography page for more information on photography passes and fees.
