Arbor Day
January 28, 2023 | 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Join us and Baton Rouge Green to be an arborist for a day!
Plant a tree, enjoy a scavenger hunt, meet Smokey Bear, and more! Your family can learn about native trees, take home a free tree, and plant a tree to watch it grow for generations using your tree’s GPS coordinates in the Burden Woods. All trees planted help to reforest our native trees lost during previous hurricane seasons.
For the first time ever, local food trucks Petite Rouge and Rock Paper Taco will be serving up coffee and breakfast at Arbor Day! This year we also welcome our first tree-related creative vendors Beneath the Bark Jewelry.
Baton Rouge Green will host their annual tree giveaway at Arbor Day. One giveaway tree per family while supplies last. Find a list of available tree species on their website.
The event is free and open to the public! We recommend visitors wear rubber boots, gloves and dress warmly!
