The Club at Union Square - Open for Happy Hour
January 21, 2022
Located in The Club at Union Square, The Lounge is open on weekdays for lunch from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. and Wednesday - Friday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. for Happy Hour.
The Lounge in The Club at Union Square is a perfect retreat to unwind in between classes or after a long day. Low, plush sofas and deep club chairs line The Lounge’s antique art-deco walls and marble-top tables welcome guests to relax and enjoy a delicious bite. “This takes on-campus dining to another level”, said Sarah Wronkoski, Special Events Coordinator for LSU Dining. “We are always striving to provide varied and exciting options and The Lounge is another great example of just that”. The menu combines trendy, flavorful tapas like Asian-inspired chicken wings, gourmet charcuterie boards, and bacon-wrapped dates, along with crowd favorites like po-boys and burgers.
From 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on weekdays, students can still use their commuter meal plan swipes at the Club Buffet, but now all Club guests have the added option of ordering lunch from a special Lounge menu.
In addition to The Club buffet, The Lounge has additional hours of service Wednesday-Friday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. The Lounge bar boasts specialty cocktails such as the Tenured Old Fashioned— an elevated version of the whiskey-based classic and Hold That Tiger— a spicy margarita with a red pepper seasoned rim. “At The Lounge, students, faculty, and the general public can appreciate the charm of one of the greatest gems on campus”, says Margot Hsu Carroll, Assistant Vice President for Auxiliary Services.
The LSU Faculty Club, originally an on-campus hotel and restaurant built in 1939, once provided amenities for Club members such as a billiard room, a television room, faculty dormitories, guest rooms, and a restaurant. Although the Faculty Club sign is still on the corner of Highland and Veterans, The Club at Union Square is now open to everyone in the community, including the wider public. The Club’s spacious main dining room overlooking the parade grounds also serves as a beautiful event space for weddings, receptions, and seated dinners.
