FBLA-PBL takes you to major business centers throughout the United States where you attend conferences in cities like Chicago, IL; Nashville, TN; and Long Beach, CA. Members who participate get to know people from Louisiana as well as from across the nation at these state and nationally sponsored events. Conferences include informative and motivational keynote speakers, career fairs, workshops, competitive events, theme dances, election of officers, and an awards ceremony. The workshops provide business-related and personal educational opportunities, while event competition allows students to gain recognition for their business and leadership knowledge. The national conferences also include tours, professional baseball games, theme parks, and more! One of the most challenging and exciting aspects of both the state and national conferences is the fierce competition. Members are given a chance to earn recognition for their knowledge and skills while being rewarded with certificates, plaques, trophies, scholarships, and monetary awards. The type of reward depends on the particular event. There are also many natures of events, including individual, performance, and team events. A few of the most common are listed below. For a complete listing along with a detailed description of each event, click here.
