Keynote Speaker
Every NLC features an outstanding
keynote speaker at the Opening General Session. Here is a brief biography
of this year's speaker.
Eric Chester
Eric Chester is the premier expert on Generation
Why; in fact, he coined the term. Since 1986, Eric Chester has
been speaking to and working with Generation Why youth. He has
personally addressed more than two million teenagers and is
dialed-in to the mindset of this burgeoning generation. He
frequently appears on national media (Good Morning America, MSNBC,
Fox News, CNN, Canada AM, etc.) to provide insight and perspective
to concerned adults. |
Tours
As with other NLC's our chapter plans to add
several extra activities to attend. We will look at many different options
and schedule events as this conference gets closer. A few of the premier
tours include:
-
Six Flags
Amusement Park
Six Flags Elitch Gardens and the Island Kingdom Waterpark are
full of world-class thrills and adventure - all at a Mile High!
This park features more than 45 rides, shows, and
attractions including the first of its kind flying coaster.
-
Colorado Rockies
Baseball
See the Colorado Rockies in action at Coors Field as they
compete against the San Francisco Giants. Seats will be
located at the left field pavilion on the lower level based on a
first-come, first-serve basis.
-
Denver City Tour
Experience two sides of Denver - a historic western town
and thriving modern city. See lovely residential areas,
stop at two of Denver's over 200 parks, take pictures at the
Denver Museum of Natural History, drive past the zoo, the
Botanic Gardens, the Governor's residence, the sports complexes,
and then up to the Colorado State Capitol.
-
Rocky Mountain
National Park/Estes Park
We head west toward the mountains, past the town of Golden,
along Clear Creek stream, and through a scenic canyon.
Then it's on to the top of Berthoud Pass for our first view of
our majestic Rocky Mountains at an elevation of 11,318 feet.
We descend in to the valley below and it's on to lunch in the
quaint mountain town of Grand Lake and visit Rocky Mountain
National Park. The highest point on our drive will be on
Trail Ridge Road, the highest continuous automobile route in
North America, at an elevation of 12,138 feet. We return
though Estes Park into the rugged North St. Vrain Canyon, and
then on back to Denver.
-
Horseback Riding
Are you ready to go for a fun, relaxing horseback ride in
beautiful Colorado? You will travel to a beautiful ranch
in the Colorado Mountains where you will be met by professional
staff at the stable area who will saddle you up for a two-hour
ride. After your ride, we will stop in town for lunch on
your own.
-
