Second performance: Approx. from 5:15pm until Papa Noel appears.

First performance is in the Dining Area in the Museum's Visitor Center. 

Second performance is on the Front Porch of the Visitor Center close to the area of the bonfire.

Lagniappe Historic Dance and Pastime Society 30 minute sessions at the top of each hour with the first session at 1:00pm and the last at 4:00pm Museum Grounds
Lagniappe Dulcimer Society 2:00pm to 2:45pm Exhibit Gallery Room
Bells Jubilate  3:15pm to 4:00pm Exhibit Gallery Room
Fugitive Poets 10:00am to 1:00pm Church

Living History Demonstrations and Activities

Living history demonstrations and activities will be continuous all day from 8:00am until 5:00pm unless otherwise stated.

Living History Demonstration or Activity Description
Raptor Viewing Available from 12:00pm to 2:00pm.  The LSU Vet School will bring a few raptor birds in the rehab program for the public to see.
Weaving Demonstration on how to weave thread into cloth.
Rag Rugs Demonstration on how to make floor rugs from scraps of fabric.
Woodworking Demonstration on wood carving.
Blacksmithing The blacksmith will light the fire in the forge to demonstrate how various farm implements were made in the 19th century.
Quill Pen Writing Demonstration on how to make and use quill pens from bird feathers.
Open Hearth Cooking Available from 9:30am to 3:30pm.  The cook will light the fire in the kitchen to demonstrate how food was cooked in the 19th century over an open-hearth.
Soap Making Demonstration on how to make home-made soap.
Bread Baking Demonstration on baking bread in a bee-hive outdoor oven.
Dip Candle Making Demonstration on how to make dip candles (hands-on)
Historic Toys and Games Try your hand at playing a few 19th century games such as hoops and graces. (hands-on)
Wagon Rides Ride in a wagon pulled by a mule team or a tractor.  The tractor will run at times when the mule team is resting.
