Dual Degree Program in Physics

Details of the Program

Students interested in this Dual-Degree program should simultaneous apply for admission to the two schools of interest. Prior to submission of the application notify Ward Plummer at the Louisiana State University (LSU) ( wplummer@phys.lsu.edu ) so that the application forms can be tagged as “dual-degree”. A Dual-Degree student will spend at least two years at each institution, taking their core courses at the home institution and doing their research and advanced courses at the host institution. Each student will have two advisors, one at LSU and the other in China. When the student finishes the Ph.D. he or she will receive Ph.D. degrees from both of the institutions.

If you are already enrolled in one of these graduate schools, please contact Professor Plummer or the representative at your institution for details about how to join the Dual-Degree program (Dr. Jiandong Guo at IOP ( jdguo@aphy.iphy.ac.cn ) or Professor Mu Wang at Nanjing (muwang@nju.edu.cn ).

Each of the three institutions are briefly described here  →  The current areas of research activity at LSU. Information about programs at IOP and Nanjing University can be found on their Dual-Degree website (to be completed).
