Office of Civil Rights & Title IX

The LSU Office of Civil Rights & Title IX advances LSU’s institutional commitment to a learning, working, and living environment grounded in civil rights, equal access, accountability, and respect. Serving the entire LSU system, the office provides leadership, guidance, and oversight to help ensure that LSU’s campuses uphold applicable federal and state laws, university policies, and the shared values that define our academic community.

Committed to Supporting Tigers

Through prevention, education, supportive measures, policy consultation, investigations, and resolution processes, the Office of Civil Rights & Title IX supports students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus leaders in understanding rights, responsibilities, and institutional obligations. The office is committed to prompt, equitable, impartial, and procedurally fair responses to concerns involving discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, Title IX violations, power-based violence, retaliation, and related civil rights matters.

Beyond Compliance

Our work reflects both a legal responsibility and a strategic institutional priority: to protect access, strengthen trust, reduce barriers to full participation, and promote environments where members of the LSU community can learn, work, lead, and serve safely and with dignity. In partnership with LSU campuses and stakeholders, the Office of Civil Rights & Title IX remains committed to advancing civil rights, supporting compliance, and reinforcing the integrity of the university system and the communities LSU serves.

Title IX and Power-Based Violence

Help is here.

Sexual violence including sexual assault, sexual harassment, dating and domestic violence, stalking, and power-based violence can have an impact on student success. The office provides prevention programming, supportive measures, and formal and informal resolutions to keep students and employees connected to academics and work. Sexual violence affects us all.
