LaNAFSA State Meeting Held at LSU
On April 6, 2018, LSU International Services – International Programs hosted the LaNAFSA state meeting at the International Cultural Center. President F. King Alexander made an appearance speaking about the importance of international collaborations, studying abroad, and the faculty and staff members who assist international students. He explained how international departments and endeavors are extremely important for a truly globalized university. Such endeavors are the true bread and butter of promoting the special presence of international students, giving international students positive experiences while they are here, and assisting them with Immigration and other needs so they are able to continue to study in the United States.
The state meeting provided information to international educators from across the state on multiple topics from English as a second language teaching, admissions with international credentials, involvement in the Region III NAFSA communications and leadership, and US Immigration processing times for EAD cards and other Immigration documents, followed by a discussion of the fall NAFSA Regional conference to be held in Little Rock, Arkansas.
