Hope Asala wins the Southern Regional Education Board Diversity Fellowship

 

Hope Asala wins the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB)’s Diversity Fellowship. Hope is a PhD student working with Dr. Ipsita Gupta on wellbore integrity problems, important for the safety of oil and gas activities.  

In addition to being a graduate student with excellent academic standing, Hope serves as the current Vice-President of the SPE students’ chapter at LSU. In the past, he has served as the SPE Graduate Students’ Representative, tutored undergraduates at the Cox Center of Academic Excellence for Student Athletes (ACSA), and served on the LSU College of Engineering Chevron Mentorship program.

Hope also helps the Departmental Petrobowl Team for their team representation at SPE inter-college and university competitions.
