Dr. Mauricio Almeida to join LSU faculty

The Craft and Hawkins Department of Petroleum Engineering is excited to welcome Dr. Mauricio Almeida to our faculty starting in March 2016.  Dr. Almeida has a BS in mechanical engineering, an MBA, and BS and PhD degrees in Petroleum Engineering (the latter two from LSU).  He has nearly 30 years experience with Petrobras, seven years with Seadrill, and extensive teaching experience in Brazil during this time. His wealth of experience will benefit the department in many ways. In the spring term he will be joining one of our new assistant professors to co-teach well design. He will also begin working with the well-facility staff on project development and management.
