Congratulations to the Class of Spring 2024!

May 17, 2024

CC&E would like to give a huge round of applause our latest set of alumni, the class of Spring 2024!

“Graduating students, please know that we are very proud of you,” said Clint Willson, dean of CC&E. “Your hard work and perseverance have prepared you for this moment, and for all the moments after it. The skills you’ve honed and the knowledge you’ve built here at LSU empower you to make an impact, wherever your chosen path may take you.”

Five students will receive doctorates at the ceremony, and 18 will receive their Masters degree. There will also be 19 students receiving their Bachelor’s degrees in Coastal Environment Science, or CES. Four of those students will be graduating Summa Cum Laude, which means they have maintained a 3.9 or higher GPA, and two have completed Honors Theses. For a complete list of graduating students, please see the Ceremony Program below.

“We are so proud of all the hard work our students have put in to get here,” said Vince Wilson, director of CC&E’s undergraduate program.  “This is  not an easy curriculum and the passion and dedication you have displayed is truly inspiring. Congratulations! Enjoy your day!”

These CC&E graduates have distinguished themselves, both through their scholarship, and through the research many of them have conducted. Students have investigated everything from the impact of global temperatures on radon exposure from permafrost to the way surveys can be used to better understand recreation fishing, to the effects of social media use disparities on community disaster resilience.

The innovative spirit and bold ideas reflected in this work provides a glimpse into the brighter, more sustainable future these students are now able to build, in Louisiana and beyond!
