Working at the Intersection of Science, Policy and People

The Department of Environmental Sciences (DES) explores the connections among ecosystems, human health, and environmental policy. Our faculty are leaders in water and air quality, environmental health, toxicology, law and policy, Geographic Information Science (GIS), artificial intelligence (AI), community resilience, and more.

Our master's and doctoral programs prepare students to think across disciplines, tackle complex environmental challenges, and develop solutions that protect both people and the planet.
