Magnetic field around a coil

Used to show that when a current passes through a coil, a magnetic field will be produced around this coil.


Connect the coil to the power supply. Observe the deflection of the compass around the coil indicating the direction of the magnetic field. You can also show that when the current increases the magnetic field is stronger indicated by the fast deflection of the needle.
