The process begins with the high school contacting the Cain Center at email@example.com to request more information or contacting specific Department DE Coordinators to get details regarding courses of interest. Communication between the high school personnel and the Department DE Coordinators is crucial at this point in order to plan appropriately.
On March 1 of each year, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the upcoming academic year is sent out to high schools to be completed and returned no later than April 15. Once the completed and signed MoU is received by LSU, the Department DE Coordinators will initial to indicate approval of the high school offering their specific courses with the facilitator listed. When all LSU personnel and administrators have signed the MoU, a fully-executed copy is sent out to the high school.
The Department DE Coordinator and the prospective high school DE facilitator will communicate regarding summer workshop certification dates and requirements. High school teachers must complete the certification process in order for the high school to offer the course.
