Scholarships

We value our students as more than just a test score, and we are committed to providing access to one of the nation's most valued degrees for all students. LSU is consistently ranked a Top Value by Kiplinger, Forbes, Money and SmartAsset.

Our holistic scholarship review process allows for a comprehensive evaluation of each applicant. Several factors are weighed in the scholarship awarding process, including, but not limited to: academic transcripts, standardized test scores, family background, achievements in and out of the classroom, letters of recommendation from an academic source, involvement, leadership, service, and demonstration of financial need.

Scholarships are awarded to incoming first-year students, transfer students, Louisiana residents, and out-of-state residents. We are committed to being a smart investment in your educational journey, and as a result, scholarship dollar amounts have historically been adjusted and increased year over year.

First-Year and Transfer Student Scholarships

LSU is excited to offer a new online scholarship system, Blackbaud Award Management, to help you with your scholarship search. This system will enable you to search for and apply to various available opportunities funded through the LSU Foundation. Deadline to apply is February 1, 2022.

To be considered for scholarships, students must complete their scholarship applications in the Blackbaud Award Management (BAM) system. Students must click "Sign In" at the top right corner of this page. This will direct them to the login screen where they can use their myLSU credentials to access and complete the general scholarship application as well as any supplemental scholarship applications for scholarships that they may be recommended for.

This term refers to your scholarship application in Blackbaud Award Management (BAM). All students will need to complete a General Application in BAM in order to apply for scholarships in-system. This is not to be confused with a general application for admissions or the Common App.

The amount stated is for general information purposes and not a guarantee of what a student may receive if awarded. Actual award amounts can vary based on recipient eligibility, available funds, and other factors.

The deadline to apply for Agriculture-related scholarships is February 1, 2022. If you have questions about these scholarships, please contact Lindsey Kelly at lkelly@agcenter.lsu.edu

Upon completion of the General Application and any Supplemental Applications, you will be auto-matched with scholarships for which you meet the criteria. These scholarships indicate “None” under “Action” and require no additional information from you for consideration. A limited number of scholarships indicate “Apply” under “Action” and require individual applications for consideration. A list of these scholarships can be found by viewing Recommended Opportunities from the Opportunities tab.
