The LSU College of Agriculture is excited to announce a new initiative, The Career Closet, as part of its continued efforts to support students in their professional development journey.
The development of The Career Closet concept has been a major goal of the College of Agriculture for many years, with a mission to make the student experience of finding professional attire more accessible, affordable and sustainable.
The Career Closet will be launched in November 2021 as part of Ag Career Prep Week.
Ashley Grant, manager of internships and student engagement, said, “Career Prep Week is all about helping students build their professional network and engage in career development outside of the classroom. First-year students through graduating seniors can benefit from meeting with the employers, alumni and industry partners who attend events like the Etiquette Dinner and Ag Career Fair.”
Throughout the summer, alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the LSU College of Agriculture came together to donate gently used work attire for the Career Closet. During the Career Closet Pop-Up Shop, LSU Agriculture students will be able to shop these upcycled items for free while networking and enjoying light refreshments.
The College of Agriculture will be accepting donations to the Career Closet through October 1. Please consider donating any clean, gently used professional attire to help fill the closet.
