Federal Order Requiring Testing for and Reporting of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in Livestock - Mandatory Testing for Interstate Movement of Lactating Dairy Cattle

Prior to interstate movement, lactating dairy cattle are required to receive a negative test for Influenza A at an approved National Animal Health Laboratory Network (NAHLN) laboratory, of which LSU Diagnostics (LADDL) is a member. The test must be conducted within seven (7) days of interstate movement. For groups of animals less than 30, all animals are to be tested. For groups of animals greater than 30, only 30 must be tested.
